    Welcome
Welcome to the South Dakota State Office Web site of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). NCA CASI is an accreditation division of AdvancED. Learn more about AdvancED.
South Dakota NCA CASI accredits about 150 schools in South Dakota and these schools serve approximately 63,000 students. There are currently 16 public and non-public districts that are engaged in the AdvancED District Accreditation Model. These include Aberdeen Catholic, Brookings, Chamberlain, Dakota Valley, Dell Rapids, Flandreau, Lead-Deadwood, Huron, Lennox, Meade, Pierre, Rapid City Catholic, Red Cloud Indian School, Vermillion, West Central, and Yankton.
South Dakota NCA CASI has a long history of collaboration with the University of South Dakota (USD) in Vermillion. USD serves as the location for the regional office for the five-state region of Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The South Dakota Department of Education (DOE) works closely with NCA CASI in the area of school accreditation. The AdvancED/NCA CASI Continuous Improvement Model fulfills the state education improvement process requirement for state accreditation. South Dakota NCA CASI also is a partner in the statewide System Change Conference held annually in mid-November and provides other regional workshops and technical assistance opportunities throughout the year.
Thank you for visiting our Web site. We hope you find it useful and informative. Please call our office if you would like additional information regarding the accreditation process, resources and/or professional development opportunities.
