We bring you greetings from the great state of South Carolina and AdvancED, the parent organization of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). South Carolina SACS CASI proudly accredits more than 1,000 public and private elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, special purpose schools, adult/vocational schools, and unit schools serving more than 674,000 students. Five districts serving 109 schools have earned district accreditation, and 25 additional districts are ready to begin the accreditation process. Ninety-five percent of schools in our state are public, and South Carolina SACS CASI accredits 89 percent of these schools.

The goal of the South Carolina SACS CASI state office and the South Carolina State Council is to provide schools and districts engaged in the accreditation process with technical assistance in the three pillars of accreditation (high standards, quality assurance and continuous improvement), offer support through the nationally trained AdvancED Field Consultants, and establish professional development opportunities in the art of effective school improvement strategies. In addition, South Carolina SACS CASI seeks to recruit quality districts to become involved in District Accreditation.
